Cotswold District Council has launched a second consultation on parking and is inviting drivers and residents to give their views.
Councillor Paul Hodgkinson, cabinet member for health, leisure and parking at CDC, said that the council wishes to know where respondents park, the reason for their visit and improvements that could be made.
The first consultation ran in January 2024 and helped establish baseline data on how the public uses and perceives the council’s parking provision. This second round, which runs until Thursday, October 17, will take into account changes in parking behaviour in the summer and autumn months.
A number of people have given their views on parking in the district on social media, many concerning the inability to pay for parking by cash in car parks in Cirencester.
CDC’s car parking strategy explores what car parking is needed across the district based on the number of people parking, what the needs of those people are and what may be required in the future.
Once complete, a new strategy will set out how parking can be improved across the district.
