A new planning application indicates that The White Company intends to open in the former Barclays outlet in Market Place which closed in November last year.

And there was more good news for the town’s retail scene this week after plans to open a branch of the Cornish Bakery in the old HSBC, also in Market Place, were approved.  This week also saw the opening of Hotter in nearby Cricklade Street and there are signs that new clothing stores will be opening soon in the vicinity (House of Tweed, on the opposite side of Cricklade Street, and The Vintage Society in what was R A O’Donnell Jewellers in Castle Street).

Coming soon after a new café/ bar opened in the town centre along with a high-end jewellers and an independent homeware store, this is very encouraging for Cirencester businesses and residents alike as it says good things about how the town is perceived by retail chains and the new additions bring a new dimension to the mix.
