Passionate hairdresser and town councillor Sarah Orr has been elected mayor and has taken on the busy position from Sabrina Dixon.

Cllr Orr, who represents the New Mills Ward on Cirencester Town Council, first to moved to the Cotswold capital at just four years old with her family and instantly fell in love with the town’s gorgeous green spaces.

“I’ve lived and worked in Cirencester my whole adult life as a hairdresser, so I’ve met a lot of people over the years which helps at Cirencester Town Council as I’m able to talk to people with confidence.”

The new mayor is particularly looking forward to switching on the town’s twinkly Christmas lights at the highly anticipated Advent Market event this winter. She said another highlight will be laying a wreath in the town centre on Remembrance Sunday.
