Make Employees Great Again! Team building without the awkward cringe

5:30 pm-7:30 pm

Chamber Events

Rebecca from Togetherworks will be presenting and giving Chamber members an evening to remember with a hands-on participation session. Get ready to speak to your tablemates, use your brain, and be just a little bit creative!

Togetherworks exists to help organisations make the most out of their most important asset: their people. They provide tailored activities and events that help your team collaborate, communicate and work better, together.

During the evening Rebecca will talk through some of the common issues faced by business leaders in our post-pandemic workplace, and together we’ll discover what a shared activity can uncover.

There will also be the usual opportunities for sharing information and for networking.

Please register via Eventbrite to secure your place.

Local nature-based solutions and infrastructure for resilient businesses in and around Cirencester

11:00 am-1:30 pm

Chamber Events

Join us over lunch for a discussion of the role local businesses could play in catalysing a portfolio of nature-based solutions and highlight infrastructure issues in and around Cirencester to build the resilience and productivity of the local economy.

It’s easy to ignore the impact of the wider landscape on businesses, particularly those that do not have direct links to the land. But positive management of the landscape and features like waterways and drainage can have far reaching consequences, for example for flood risk and the condition of vital local infrastructure like roads. As the climate changes, risks and costs are changing too, with weather related insurance payouts in Britain reaching a record £585 million in 2024.

A new collaboration led by Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group and including Gloucestershire Nature and Climate Fund and Farmer Guardians of the Upper Thames aims to lay the ground for a portfolio of land management projects, working with farmers, that deliver real value to businesses through avoided costs, increased resilience and local opportunities to meet environmental targets and obligations.

We’re interested in the role that businesses, particularly SMEs, in and around Cirencester might play in building a more resilient landscape and local economy. Whether as buyers or suppliers of nature-based solutions, facilitators, champions of local action, or through some other means, this will be an exploratory session examining the range of potential opportunities.

Registration for this event is via Eventbrite.
